Dr. Suzuki earned her medical degree from the University of Buenos Aires in Argentina and completed an ophthalmology residency. She developed a special interest in neuro-ophthalmology, which led her to Japan to conduct studies in the field. Dr. Suzuki returned to the University of Miami to study neuro-otology. However, after discovering her interest in the human mind and the brain, she decided to pursue a new professional path and completed a psychiatry residency at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.
Dr. Suzuki then completed a residency in pediatric psychiatry at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and specialized training in transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) at Harvard Medical School in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Dr. Suzuki is particularly interested in how a kid’s brain and the mind grows. While preparing for her fellowship at UCLA, she did an annual optional in the autism clinic and continued her autism study at the UCLA Brain Research Institute. She now oversees and educates pediatric psychiatry residents at the University of California, Irvine’s CHOC neuropsychiatric clinic. In addition, Dr. Suzuki is a fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, as well as an active member of the Clinical TMS Society and American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
