Instead of parking as close to the store as you can, park farther out. Take the stairs instead of the elevator. If you’re just running into the grocery store for a few things, get a basket instead of a cart. Carrying a basket of groceries around the store will not only give your arm muscles a miniature workout, but it will save you money by making sure that you stick to your list. When you stop to take a coffee break at work, walk around the office and talk to your coworkers. Instead of shouting for someone that you need to talk to at home, take the time to find them. This might mean as little as walking down the hall or as much as going up a flight of stairs.

Those are just a few ways that you can slightly modify your normal life to exercise in little spurts. For those who are looking to incorporate a bit more exercise into their everyday lives, it requires a little more thought. March in place while watching television. Better yet, find a short stool and do stair-steps. Take a walk around the block on your lunch break, or even walk to your favorite restaurant for lunch. Once you start becoming more active, you will think of more and more ways to burn calories throughout your day.
